Bio

Susie Cipolla was born in Vancouver in 1958 and has lived in the resort town of Whistler, B.C. since 1980. She is best known in Whistler as a physiotherapist and the founder of the Whistler Physiotherapy Group of Clinics. She has spent her life in the Sea to Sky Corridor and in 2009 moved out of the health care business and in to life as a full time artist.

Susie first broke into the art world at the age of seven, winning a bicycle in a Dairyland colouring contest. After that, life brought many distractions and responsibilities so she didn’t pursue her art for the next forty-three years.

In 2009 she took her first painting workshop with Brian Atyeo at the Whistler Arts Council’s “house on the lake”. She continues to attend workshops and volunteer for the summer program. Admittedly a workshop junkie, she credits much of her acquired art knowledge and skill to generous and talented artists like Robert Genn, Brian Atyeo, Mike Svob, Brian Buckrell, Janice Robertson, Suzanne Northcotte and many others.

Susie’s preferred painting medium is acrylic and her subject matter is primarily West Coast scenery and wildlife. She is represented by the Adele Campbell Gallery of Fine Art in Whistler and the Portico Gallery in Squamish. She has also exhibited work at The Federation Of Canadian Artists Gallery in Vancouver.

Susie is an Active member and a Board member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She is a founding member of The Whister Out Of Bounds Artist Group.
